For over two decades, Protègèm Dance School has been dedicated to supporting, nurturing, and encouraging young dancers in and around Epsom & Ewell. Our mission is to provide a welcoming, professional environment where every student can thrive and develop their passion for dance, no matter their age or experience level.

Happily celebrating Over 20 years!

What an incredible journey it has been! We are beyond excited to have celebrated 20 amazing years of Protègèm Dance School in style, with a spectacular show at the Leatherhead Theatre.

The anniversary performance was filled with fun, energy, and of course, many costume changes! Our talented dancers took to the stage to deliver unforgettable routines that left the audience cheering. Some of the highlights included an energetic Mamma Mia medley and two show-stopping tracks from &Juliet, following our long-awaited West End Theatre trip in 2022 (finally rescheduled after the pandemic!).

One of the most touching moments of the evening was the performance of ‘I’m So Excited’, a piece originally performed at our very first show, also held at The Leatherhead Theatre back in 2006. Our current Senior Dance Company brought this number to life again, dancing alongside the original video version of the performance, which played on the backdrop, creating a beautiful connection between the past and present.

This 20th anniversary was not only a celebration of dance but a reminder of the incredible journey we’ve shared with so many talented dancers over the years. Here’s to many more years of growth, creativity, and performance! We can't wait to see what the future holds for Protègèm Dance School.

Our Dance Classes

At Protègèm Dance School, we provide expert dance training tailored to every age and ability level. Whether you're taking your first steps in dance or refining your skills, our structured programs ensure growth, confidence, and enjoyment.

We run classes across multiple locations, with:

  1. Thursday sessions at Ruxley Church (Ruxley Lane, Epsom & Ewell KT19 0AF)

  2. Saturday sessions at St Phillips School, Sports Centre (Harrow Close, Chessington KT9 2HR)

Age Groups

  1. ProtègèmMinis (2 – 4.5 years)

  2. ProtègèmJuniors (4.5 – 9 years)

  3. ProtègèmPre-Teens (9 – 12 years)

  4. ProtègèmTeens (12 – 18 years)

  5. ProtègèmAdults (18+ years)

Who we are Our Mission & Values

At Protègèm, we are passionate about supporting, nurturing, and encouraging the talents of young dancers. Our mission is to provide a welcoming environment where students can thrive, learn, and grow in their dance journey, with a focus on creating performance opportunities that build confidence and skill.

Founded in 2003, Protègèm Ltd began with the first youth dance company tryouts at Carshalton Girls School in September 2003. Shortly after, Protègèm Dance School was launched in September 2004 at the Ruxley Church Hall in Ruxley Lane. Over the years, we have expanded our offerings to cater to students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards of dance education, ensuring each dancer is supported every step of the way, whether they are dancing for fun or aiming for a professional career.

  2. Our Offerings

    We are proud to offer IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) exams, the largest and most recognized dance qualification worldwide. These exams are available to our students throughout the year, providing them with measurable achievements and personal growth. Each exam session culminates in a performance presentation event, where dancers can showcase their skills on stage and receive their certificates and awards in front of their families.

    Protègèm offers a wide variety of dance styles to suit every interest and ability level, including:

    Ballet, Tap, Theatrecraft, Musical Theatre, Street Dance / Commercial, Arts Award, Breakdance (within Boys Street), Contemporary (within Arts Award and Dance Company sessions)

    We’re proud to see our students grow in skill, confidence, and creativity as they explore the world of dance with us. Whether you’re joining for recreation or training with professional aspirations, Protègèm is here to support you every step of the way.
